FEEL GOOD HOUSE
Torrang Atelier of Architecture - Torrång Arkitektkontor .
Ola Torrång has a master degree from Chalmers Institute of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden.
After graduation he worked in Japan where he was inspired by the simplicity, flexibility and interaction with nature in traditional Japanese architecture.
Back in Sweden he developed a new type of one family houses influenced by his stay in Japan combined with Swedish requirements for energy saving.
The first prototype house was built 1980. In 1982 followed by "Det Gåtfulla Huset" (The Mystified House) with an octagonal floor plan. The first one family house in Sweden with the whole structure consisting of well insulated concrete sandwich elements including the roof. Noticed by mass media both in Sweden and abroad.
The concept was refined and in 1988 the house type "Det Sagolika Huset" (The Fairy Tale House) was introduced.
The architect office can be seen as a pioneer in developing concrete frames with new features that still today are unique.
